How We Got Here
The Diagnosis
My twins were diagnosed with autism at age two. The first months were complete chaos — running from one doctor to the next, everyone saying something different. Online, I found only expensive English-language apps that couldn't even meet our needs.

The Idea
While working night shifts, I started learning to code during the day. At the same time, Bogi’s special education studies gave us more and more practical anchors for everyday life. The idea was simple: one calm app that brings the family’s tools together in a system that truly works in our language.

The Build
Flutter, Dart, and a lot of learning. I built the product while Bogi’s special education perspective helped keep the work grounded in real family situations, not just technical features. First an AAC communication board, then schedules, emotions, coloring, music-based calming activities... the list kept growing.

Calmika
Today Calmika is building localized experiences for Hungarian, English, Polish, German and Romanian families. AAC communication and Calm Corner/regulation remain available without subscription, while Pro adds multiple profiles, reports, export, password-encrypted manual backup/restore, therapist connection and deeper learning/play content. Communication and regulation support are essential help — not luxuries.

The family founders
Calmika is the shared work of Dávid and Bogi. Dávid builds the product, the app and the technology behind it; Bogi studies special education and brings that learning, daily experience and professional perspective into the decisions. There is no big company or investor behind Calmika — just a family that wanted something better for its twins, and built a tool that may help other ASD families too.
